I think it depends on what u are looking for in a relationship. I think if you are looking for a "long term boyfriend" with a view to marriage maybe then yes i think you can be just friends with the opposite sex because your not interested in one night stands, casual sex, s..g buddies and if you meet a someone you get on with who is not your soul mate but you have interests in common well then yes you can be friends. If you are the person who is intersted in the one night stand etc scene well then no i dont think you could be friend because there is always the thought in the back of your mind that this person could be a activity partner. just my pennies worth.
